The Singer Schools U-20 League Rugby match between D.S.Senanayake College Colombo and St.Anthony’s College Kandy ended in a 10 all draw with both teams scoring two tries each in their Singer segment one rugby match played at CR and FC Grounds,Longden Place yesterday.
D.S.Senanayake College started to earn points with the help of a try by the second rower Nikshan Amendra.But unfortunately the conversion was missed by Pramith Tharindu.The Senanayakians didn’t allow Antonians side to score a single point in the first half.And DSS led 5 – 0 at half time

Isipatana College will go out favourites when they confront Kingswood College, Kandy in their Singer Segment One Schools ‘A’ Division Rugby match at Longden Place today.
Isipatana who were held to a 19-all draw by Vidyartha in their first outing then went on to beat St Joseph’s College by 29-18 in their next match and will go all out to register their second win today by overcoming the Kingswoodians.

United Star SC defeated Premier SC by 1-0 in the first round of Holcim FA cup qualifying round match worked off in Colombo. A free kick from Deshapriya Niyangoda was directed to the goal by Vijai Weerasingha. Last year Western Province Soccer Champions United Star entered the next round of the tournament with the victory.
New Star SC, Colombo had the better of Old Wesleyties SC by 4-1 in another match of the same tournament. Nazeem, Mujreen, Safanand Farhil socred goals for the winners. New Star will meet Young Star SC, Kandana in the next round.

Royal College, Panadura beat the touring Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Bangalore, India easily by nine wickets in their under 15 twenty/20 cricket match played at Moratuwa.
Batting first Royal Panadura made 162 for 1 with Pathum Nirmal and Hashan Vimukthi were unbeaten on 89 and 35 runs respectively.

Yuvraj Singh, who played a stellar role in India’s ODI World Cup triumph last year, has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy in the United States.
The 30-year-old left-hander has been in US since last month and is being treated for what was earlier claimed to be a tumour in the lungs by his family. But it has now been diagnosed as malignant and Yuvraj is currently undergoing chemotherapy in the Cancer Research Institute in Boston.

Taking the first lease more fancied Maris Stella College were bundled out for a paltry 77 runs with Lahiru Madushanka and Dushan Danushka claiming 3 for 26 and 3 for 4 respectively.

Thomians score was propped up by two good knocks of 55 runs by Ishan Kanishka and 54 runs by Hashan Vinura. Jayanga Nirmana contributed 49 runs. Off spinner Zafran Preena was the most successful bowler for Vidyalians with 5 for 45.

Vidyartha College, Kandy coasted to their fourth outright win for the season when they defeated Wayamba Royal College, Kurunegala by seven wickets in a thriller with three balls to spare in their schools under 19 cricket tournament match played at the open Prison Camp grounds, Pallekelle. Vidyartha College were set a victory target of 25 to win in four overs and they won Midway in the final over.
For Vidyartha College off spinner Tilina Rupasena bowled well to capture a match bag of 8 for 154. Vidyartha College under their new coach Susantha Basnayake have done with 4 outright wins compared to their solitary win last season.
